Recreation Department website

The Recreation Director and Programmer are responsible for the planning, organizing, and operation of the cultural, athletic, and recreational activities in the City. They work in cooperation with other groups and individuals to carry out these activities throughout the year.

All program information and rates are subject to change. Please check back often on our Recreation Department website for updates prior to your final registration.  All programs are subject to cancellation if the minimum registration is not met.

Fall Open Gym

We have added Family Pickleball to our fall Open Gym lineup.

Fall NFL Flag Football

Team rosters and game schedules are now available for the 2019 season. Visit our Youth Programs page for more information.

Spray Park

The Spray Park will close for the season on September 2, 2019. Thanks for a great summer and lots of fun memories!

Youth Karate

Kids Power Karate is for kids ages 5-12 and offers traditional martial arts training with an emphasis on self-defense, physical fitness, conflict resolution, team work, discipline and anti-kidnapping techniques. Find more info on our Youth Programs page or click the green button above to register.

Youth Basketball Clinics

This is a great introduction to basketball fundamentals and athletic skills for beginners. Emphasis will be on shooting, dribbling, and passing techniques, along with speed and coordination development.

Women's Fall Volleyball League

Zumba classes begin October 2nd

The Recreation Department is now pre-registering for Zumba classes at the Wilson Center on Wednesday 6:00-7:00pm. Pre-registration (through Sept. 25) for all five classes in the session is only $16 per person, or you can drop in nightly for $4 per person. Adults and youth, men and women, beginners and experts are all welcome! Certified Zumba instructor Sarah D. will be leading the dance-based workout each night. Dress ready to sweat, bring a water bottle, and be prepared for an amazing and fun time. Classes are held in the Wilson Center gym.

Adult Open Gym Pickleball

The City of St. Johns is excited to offer this new adult program. Pickleball is a fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. This program will take place on Tuesday mornings 10:00am-12:00pm starting the week of October 21st and on Thursday nights 6:30pm to 8:30pm beginning Sept. 26th, at the Wilson Center Gym. The cost to take part in this program is $4 per night or you can purchase an open gym pass for $20 good for 6 visits.

Adult Open Gym Volleyball

If you are looking to play volleyball in a fun, easy going environment, this is the place to be! This adult program takes place on Monday nights starting in late October from 7:00 to 9:00pm, at the Wilson Center Gym. The cost to take part in this program is $4 per night or you can purchase an open gym pass for $20 good for 6 visits.

Men's Fall Softball League

Kids Craft Donation Requests

The Recreation Department is currently accepting donations of the following items. You may drop off donations at the City offices to help grow and improve the youth summer activities in our community.
